  • India Water FoundationCapacity Building in Ganga Grams (Villages) in Meerut under the Namami Gange Programme (2019)
    In furtherance of the Central Government’s flagship “Namami Gange Programme”, IWF worked in 9 villages in Hastinapur and Pratikshitgarh, Uttar Pradesh, undertaking research study on the common obstacles faced in the areas of water, sanitation and health, climate-smart agricultural practices, lack of awareness and inadequate capacity building of grassroots communities. Applying an integrated approach towards water, sanitation and health, IWF supplemented the decentralization and localization efforts of the Central and State flagship programmes through capacity-building to shift practices from unsustainability to sustainability.IWF
  • India Water FoundationMission Eco-Next: Eco Routes and WASH Dialogue for Eco-Intelligent Rural Rejuvenation and Field Capacity Enhancement for Aspirational Districts in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand (2018-2019)
    This project was undertaken by IWF in collaboration with National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India in 7 Aspirational Districts across Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, including Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Haridwar, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Shravasti and Bahraich. Driven by the overarching objective of promoting Science from lab to land, the utilization of science interlinked 6 aspirational indicators of health, education, water and agriculture resources, skill development and financial inclusion as key indicators. The project used participatory and learning action and behaviour change communication tools to engage and empower women leaders (Pradhans), youth, children and local communities.
  • India Water FoundationIntegrated approach to empower communities for ecology, water body conservation, sanitation and hygiene through awareness enhancing campaigns and use of environment-friendly technologies in Meerut South Block (2016-2017)
    IWF in collaboration with the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India focused on building a scientific temperament in 13 villages of Meerut South Block through awareness campaigns and capacity-building trainings. Promoting scientific literacy on ecological restoration and WASH, the outcomes brought scientific advancement and benefits from labs to land.
  • India Water FoundationTraining in Hydrogeomorphological mapping for groundwater prospection across 20 States in India (2015-2017)
    This project was undertaken by IWF in furtherance of the mandate given by Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, West Bengal, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Telangana, Haryana, Gujarat, Odisha and Maharashtra. IWF conducted 2-day residential training programmes in each of the 20 States and Union Territories for the staff and members of State Water and Sanitation Mission (SWSM), Panchayati Raj Institutions, Public Health Engineering Departments (PHED), Communication and Capacity Development Units (CCDU), NGOs and Civil Society Organizations. The training equipped around 836 officials in the Country to stay updated with new technologies and innovations in HGM mapping. Applications of HGM included flood-prone and flood inundation area mapping, HGM classification of Wetlands/Lake-Groundwater interaction studies, the role of HGM in Disaster-Management etc.
