Water and Sanitation
When we talk about Water, it is not a mere sector, rather it is a connector that facilitates interconnectedness and inter-linkages with other sectors like agriculture, industry, energy, infrastructure, environment, health etc. Water as a connector provides solutions that can support strategies to effectively tackle climate change and facilitate hassle-free adaptation. Water connects policy areas, economic sectors and societies and as such it is a tool for cooperation and for building trust. SDG 6 has links with other SDGs related to poverty & hunger; sustainable consumption & production; life on land & water; industry & innovation, it also forms significant inter-linkages with wetlands, ground water, agriculture, science & technology which must be integrated harmoniously to complement each other. Sustainable development and ecosystems are linked with water. Once resilience to water-induced calamities and environment-induced vagaries is enhanced, attainment of other goals will be easier because both water and climate changes are at the roots of bulk of the calamities.India Water Foundation believes availability of an adequate quantity and quality of water is mandatory to sustain socio-economic development, livelihoods, health, and ecosystems.Access to water, sanitation and hygiene are interconnected and are also essential for achieving other development goals, including the elimination of poverty and hunger, reduction of inequalities and good health and well-being.

We believe in combining soft and hard solutions for building up capacities of multistakeholders for prioritizing water, sanitation and hygiene services.
